This is actually kind of old news. Anyway, taaz is a website where you can do virtual makeovers for free.

I made a video yesterday

So as some of you may know, I work for a company that is developing a product that applies makeup on faces in an interactive context. You can apply lipstick, blush, etc to touch up an existing photo that you can upload from your computer. There is also a notion of a social network built in so that you can share your makeovers with your friends along with content pages for tips and tricks for practical usages and stuff. Of course, all of these services will be free.

My primary role in the company is to develop the software surrounding the product, but as a startup, everyone does everything. For example, I would also be responsible for testing various parts of the code. In any case, one of our tests spawned a site which exhibits some interesting edge cases.

Here is a sample from that site. All images on that site were created completely with our makeup editor. No additional photoshop work was done.

Higashi has a new blog (it’s in Japanese)!

The Lakers are still without Andrew Bynum (and will continue to be for another several weeks)…I’ll post more on that later.

A few things to add to the blog:
Adventures in Flex Category - I’ve been doing a lot of flex and been learning a lot of random stuff that has been hard to find so I guess I’ll post it.

Stark’s Conjecture - I want to (re)prove Stark’s Conjecture starting from scratch - I’ll post my progress. (This is an OLD goal…)

Go for Breakfast - I have been working on developing a 9×9 go AI for a flash game for Alex Dinerchtein (a 3 dan professional). His handle is “breakfast”.

The clock in my car is finally correct!

I’m sure the drizzle yesterday helped some.

The witch fire, the county’s largest, is at around 90 percent containment. The Poomacha and Harris fire are looking at around 45 and 65 percent containment. Full containment of those fires are estimated to be the 29th and 31st.

Meanwhile, one blogger wrote an article comparing Katrina to our fires, blaming racism for the vast difference in response.
